Meant to be

This couple is so awesome, Steve got out in the creek to get this photo. And look at that lighting! Brian and Gina are not just gorgeous and golden, it’s like the two of them are walking on sunshine in this pic.

Steve shot this at Cherokee Park. It’s one of his favorite spots, and yet, the photos are always different. I think it has to do with the lighting, the couple, the angles, the mood.

Anyway, I love this one. They’re having a Christmas wedding.

With the flip flops!

These two were so much fun to work with, and just as laid-back and energy-filled (okay, that’s sort of an oxymoron, but trust me), as they look.

Photography Theme Parties

May 23rd, 2007 by Louisville photographer Stephen A Harmon

I was just having this conversation with a lady who is interested in having a special party for her soon-to-be 13 year-old daughter:

Something Steve and I have talked about doing (he is a photographer) is promote fashion show parties. For $100, you get an hour’s worth of him and his camera going click-click-click-click at 8 frames per second, and the girls can strut around like they are supermodels. Then he would give you a 5×7 of each party guest and an 8×10 for the birthday girl.

We first talked about that a year ago and I outright forgot until I read this thread. When I was that age, I would have had SO much fun with that. Especially if Mom turns on some fun “fashion show” music.

RuPaul’s “Supermodel” comes to mind. Work! Work it girl!

Steve had this idea when he used to regularly shoot fashion shoots. He was like “why not let kids do this at their parties?” Most of the models he was photographing were teenagers, for a local modeling agency.

Then, I read about a place in Atlanta that hosts “princess” parties for little, little girls. They dress up as princesses and they lip-sync and perform for their friends and parents and get a photo. I think that is a big, expensive birthday party OUT at a business that does only that, but I thought “Oh, man, if we had a daughter we would SO let her do that.” Just once, you know?

Anyway, there’s a thought for you. If you want to use Steve, just give him a call. (502.599.8483) Or if you want to get really adventurous, you could probably rent a camera with a motor drive for a few hundred dollars for the weekend, and try your hand at photography! You might be the next big thing, yourself!

If you are interested in having a fashion party for girls of any age (even Mommies, why NOT? You only live once!), please do get in touch with us. This would be so much fun for everyone involved.
