The Galt House has some really nice locations spread throughout both hotels downtown. Even on busy days, with the right timing, you can really focus on shared moments that are timeless.

Rachel and Zachary have a moment on one of the escalators at the Galt House as we ride up to the Belvedere level with the rest of the wedding party. Their reception was over early enough to allow us some daylight. I offer full day photojournalism and love it when the clients take me up on that!

One of the ring bearers lays a big smooch on the bride during our group photo session after the ceremony. You just never know what kids will do and they always keep me on my toes.

You just couldn’t get the smile off Rachel’s face while having the back oof her dress laced. As I explain to my brides, I’d like to be as involved with you getting into your dress as you feel comfortable having me in there with you. In my opinion, that’s when it really gets real for the bride… The bride, on her wedding day, the day she’s dreamed of since she was a child, getting into her perfect dress, surrounded by her friends and family and shortly to marry the man of her dreams… Those are the shots you can’t recreate… You can’t fake the tears of joy and the release of emotion… And that’s the essence of photojournalism. I have multiple state and national awards for photojournalism and am looking forward to adding more.

We finished up the night at the Seelbach in downtown Louisville with a dance in the Rathskeller. The couple spent the night prior to leaving for their honeymoon the next day. I just love it when couples want to do extra stuff because it allows us the time to really get creative and for me to focus on the couple and location. I’m very efficient in my after reception sessions as I know it’s been a long and busy day and the couple has other things on their minds…

Chad and Jessica had a New Orleans or Mardi Gras themed reception at Kye’s II in Jeffersonville. The couple as well as the wedding party and immediate family entered adorned with masks, feathers and beads.

Jessica and Chad worked out some free time after the reception for us to tour the riverfront area on both sides of the river. Our first stop was the newly renovated Ashland Park in Jeffersonville, which, in my humble opinion, offers the best view of the Louisville skyline.

Chad’s sister was all smiles and maybe a tear or two as he and Jessica stood at the altar. The couple invited all their guests to receive communion and had a moment of peace where guest were able to greet each other during the ceremony.

Chad’s groomsmen really lay it on him as they walk down the street. His guys really ribbed, popped and flew out of nowhere to ruff him up a bit before the corsages went on and things settled down. His guys really stepped up and showed their love and support, which helped ease some of the pre-wedding jitters.
