Bonny and Carmelo get a few minutes to reflect the ceremony they just held and express a tender moment outside of the Saber and Quill, the Officer’s Club at Fort Knox, Ky. Bonnie met Carmelo while stationed in Italy with the US Army and their love kept them together.
The couple’s rings photographed atop their ceremony program. Carmelo’s moustache had always been a big hit and conversation piece, so they worked that design into their programs.

Chelsea and her sister, a bridesmaid, ride in the back of the trolley and do selfies as the ladies travel from Garden Court, where the ladies got ready, to Sojourn Midtown Church, where the ceremony will commence in Louisville, Ky.

Anthony checks himself over once again as he wants everything to be perfect when Chelsea sees him as she walks down the aisle in mere minutes as the ceremony time approaches.
There wasn’t a serious bone in their bodies until the ceremony, and then they got it! These guys and Anthony had a great time and I had a wonderful time photographing them in the time I had prior to the ceremony at Sojourn Midtown Church in Louisville, Ky.
Perfect timing in capturing the bride both from the front and back as she walks down the aisle at Sojourn Midtown Church in Louisville, Ky. The bright white light in the center of the photo is my flash unit going off, taking a picture of the front of the bride as she walks, escorted, down the aisle. This photograph was taken by a remote camera I had positioned in the church’s balcony and triggered remotely. I use this technique whenever possible to give multiple angles of the same event.

It’s real important, as a photographer, to get all of the images that you know your clients will want throughout the day, but you also need to make sure and not distract from what the couple are doing, most importantly, during the ceremony. Having photographed news for years, I understand how to move through an event and not call all that much attention to myself. Planning pays off in great images.

Wow… It looks beautiful, but it took a lot of light to really bring the details out of Chelsea and Anthony as they share a moment before joining their family and friend on the lawn outside of Garden Court in Louisville, Ky. The sunset was gorgeous and extremely bright as well as low in the sky and I definitely wanted to work with is and bring a balance between that and the couple.
Just happened to catch Anthony at the right time and right place to get the perfect back lighting as the sun started to set. The couple had just arrived at Garden Court in Louisville, Ky and were making their way around the family and friends gathered to share their love.
Anthony and Chelsea leave the reception at Garden Court to their friends fanfare and neon waving. The couple had a few minutes after this before their ride showed up and we took advantage of that to do some fountain photographs as shown in my next blog post.

The couple ended up back at the Omni Hotel in Louisville, Ky and, without getting too invasive, we found a nice hallway in which to do some couples portraiture. I offer full day photography and work with the couple to encourage an after reception photo shoot with just the three of us, should the couple still have the energy to do so.
Even though it was raining, I was prepared to grab this photograph as the bride and groom share a moment beneath their umbrella in front of The Culbertson West during their reception. You can’t fight Mother Nature. I’ve found that you can get some real beautiful images in the rain if you can prepare for it. I planned ahead and made lighting rigs for some of my location lighting to make sure everything stayed dry during the light rain.
